Description

A quiet fishing village on Grand Island comes alive each summer when the steamer rolls in, its whistle breaking the lazy lull of June. The bustling wharf fills with locals, hotel guests, and the clatter of luggage as the town prepares for another day of sunshine and river play. Against this backdrop three brothers—full of good‑natured rivalry—and their friend Henry Burns watch the arrivals, their eyes scanning for familiar faces.

The boys soon discover that two expected campers, Tom Harris and Bob White, are nowhere to be seen, sparking a mix of disappointment and mischievous speculation. Henry, feigning illness, becomes the target of good‑hearted teasing, while the brothers plot how to uncover the mystery of the missing friends. Their banter and curiosity set the stage for a light‑hearted summer adventure, full of daring plans, hidden shortcuts, and the timeless thrill of youthful exploration.
