Description

Oliver Pickersgill is a young man who falls for Ruth Lannithorne, the daughter of a convicted embezzler. He assumes love alone will smooth the path to marriage, but Ruth's fierce loyalty to her incarcerated father throws a wrench into his idealistic plans. As he attempts to reassure her, their conversation quickly reveals tangled family loyalties, financial anxieties, and a clash of social expectations.
