Seventeen‑year‑old Mart Judson is a grease‑stained mechanic with a stubborn streak, who finds himself on the gleaming deck of the yacht Seamew for the first time. He’s there at the insistence of his wealthy friend Bob Hollinger, son of the yacht’s eccentric owner, Stephen Hollinger. While Bob pushes the idea of a Pacific cruise, Mart wrestles with his duty at the shop and his longing for a real wireless job. Their banter sets the stage for a friendship tested by the call of the open sea.
The two boys soon learn that the voyage will head toward the enigmatic island of Tringanu, a name that sparks both curiosity and unease. As the Seamew prepares to leave port, rumors of a legendary pirate shark begin to surface among the crew, hinting at dangers lurking beneath the waves. Listeners are invited to join Mart and Bob as they balance youthful ambition, loyalty, and the unknown on a journey that promises adventure and a taste of early twentieth‑century maritime life.

Best known as a pen name used for fast-moving boys' adventure stories, this early 20th-century writer mixed wildlife, exploration, and danger in books like The Blind Lion of the Congo and The Pirate Shark. Behind the name was a newspaperman and novelist with a real taste for action and popular storytelling.
