Description

Two adventurous cousins find themselves far from home, huddled in a winter camp beside the Lewis and Clark expedition on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Their days blend study of the local Mandan people, rugged hunting, and a growing curiosity about the whispered legends of a nearby “Land of Enchantment” that tourists later call a national wonder. When an unexpected mishap forces them away from the safety of the camp, they step into a wild, uncharted region where geysers steam, strange creatures roam, and the landscape itself seems alive with mystery.

As the boys press onward, they must learn the ways of the varied tribes that guard these remote valleys, facing both natural hazards and uneasy encounters with wary warriors. Along the way, daring rescues, astonishing natural spectacles, and the loyalty of unlikely animal allies keep their spirits high. Their early journey sets the stage for a saga of courage, discovery, and the timeless pull of the American frontier.
