Description

In the summer of 1776 three restless teenagers—Abraham, Samuel and Ephraim—forge a secret brotherhood on the quiet shores of Wallabout Bay. Their prized sloop, the Swiftsure, becomes a mobile meeting place where they study the rumors of Governor Tryon’s conspiracies and debate how a handful of boys might tip the balance against an overwhelming Tory presence on Long Island. Their youthful resolve is matched by a gritty determination to prove that age does not limit courage when the call for liberty sounds through the colonies.

The story follows their daring attempts to gather intelligence, ferry messages, and test the limits of their fledgling militia, all while navigating the everyday pressures of farm life and family expectations. As loyalty is measured against oppression, the Minute Boys discover that even the smallest vessel can carry big ideas, and their actions begin to stir both admiration and danger among neighbors. The narrative captures the restless energy of adolescence intertwined with the urgent heartbeat of a nation on the brink of revolution.
