Ned has spent a lazy afternoon curled up with a hefty book about fairies and goblins, dreaming of the hidden lives of tiny forest folk. Suddenly a real‑size gnome steps out from the page, introducing himself as the King of the Gnomes and inviting Ned on a tour of Gnomeland. Curious and amused, Ned follows his new companion out the window and into the meadow, where the gnome prepares a mysterious pipe and a bar of soap.
The gnome blows a shimmering bubble that swallows them both, lifting them high above the countryside. The bubble drifts past Ned’s own roof, over a distant snow‑capped mountain, and finally settles on a frosty ledge where an icy giant, the Wind Man of the Mountain, looms with a bellows of cold air. With the promise of more strange sights and friendly creatures, Ned’s ordinary day turns into a whimsical adventure beyond his wildest imagination.
