Description

Peggy Prescott, with her bright green dress and a curiosity as sharp as the field glasses she carries, discovers a striking red building on the edge of Sandy Beach—a secretive aeroplane workshop buzzing with activity. Together with her brother Roy, who’s returned from a desert trek, they piece together clues from a bold sign advertising the Mortlake Aeroplane Company, prompting a mix of excitement and wariness toward the enigmatic Mr. Harding who seems to be pulling the strings.

As a naval lieutenant is slated to inspect the fledgling operation, the siblings find themselves at the heart of a venture that could change more than just their weekend tennis games. With the promise of real flights and daring experiments, the Prescott family steps into an era where the sky is no longer a distant dream but a tangible, thrilling frontier awaiting their first daring ascent.
