Description

A bold venture into the untamed north drives a small band of soldiers, fur traders and scientists toward the legendary “Fur Country,” a region of endless ice and boundless opportunity at seventy degrees latitude. Led by the disciplined Lieutenant Hobson, the party—including the resourceful Sergeant Long, the spirited Corporal Joliffe, and the enigmatic newcomer Thomas Black—sets out from Fort Reliance with hopes of carving a new trade route and establishing a foothold in the frozen wilderness.

Their journey quickly becomes a test of endurance as towering icebergs, sudden storms, and prowling bears turn the Arctic landscape into a relentless adversary. Encounters with the Hare Indians and the mysterious Esquimaux girl Kalumah bring moments of cultural exchange and unexpected danger, while the crew’s own tensions flare over pay, leadership, and the harsh realities of survival. Amid the howling winds and shifting ice, the expedition teeters between ambition and disaster, offering listeners a vivid portrait of courage on the edge of the world.
