Description

In the waning glory of Victorian London, the Explorers’ Club—once a smoky sanctuary of bold adventurers—has been reduced to a modest tea‑shop on Old Bond Street. Within its green‑baize walls, seasoned hunters and scientists once plotted daring journeys into the world’s uncharted wilds, their maps dotted with blank spaces that begged to be filled. At the heart of this fading fraternity stands Edward Harden, a towering big‑game legend whose fame rests on both his hunting trophies and his contributions to geography.

When the ever‑curious Max Harden, Edward’s nephew and a medical student, joins his uncle, the pair set their sights on the mysterious Congo—a region still shrouded in myth for Europeans. Their preparations blend the swagger of Victorian aristocracy with the practical concerns of a young doctor eager to prove himself. As they leave the soot‑filled streets of London for the steaming jungles of Africa, the story captures the clash between imperial ambition and the untamed forces of the continent.
