Description

Lucile Tucker awakens aboard the yacht O Moo to a strange, rhythmic tapping that pierces the night’s darkness. With a storm gathering and the flag‑rope clanking against the mast, she and her cousin Marian Norton—fresh from daring exploits in the Bering Straits— grapple with the unsettling sound while trying to settle into their plans for university studies. Their hopes are already strained by recent family setbacks, making the mystery all the more urgent.

As the weather worsens, the girls must decide whether to investigate the source of the tapping or simply ride out the gale. The narrative blends the tension of a looming tempest with the quiet determination of two young women determined to pursue education despite financial hardships. Listeners will be drawn into the atmospheric night aboard the O Moo, feeling every creak of wood and the suspense of an unknown presence just beyond the shutters.
