Description

In a chilly Victorian parlor, Miss Terry wrestles with the gloom of a solitary Christmas Eve, her sharp tongue and a lingering letter that she tosses into the fire. When her servant Norah brings in a heavy packing case, a delicate papier‑mâché angel falls out, a tiny symbol of holiday cheer that briefly softens the room’s austere atmosphere.

The young maid, bright‑eyed and eager, begs to step outside and taste the city’s candle‑lit windows and the distant carols drifting through the streets. Miss Terry, skeptical and stubborn, reluctantly grants permission, her gruff words barely concealing a flicker of curiosity. As Norah slips into the night, the promise of twinkling lights and music hints that the spirit of the season may yet find its way into the house.
