Description

Kenneth and Rose return to their beloved summer island, eager to revisit every favorite nook—from the breezy beach to the hidden pirate cave. This morning they set out for the mysterious wigwam they discovered only once last summer, dressing in makeshift Indian gear and following a winding forest trail that feels alive with pine scent and mossy ground. Their excitement builds as they trek deeper, the familiar woods turning dim and misty, the path growing faint yet somehow familiar to Kenneth’s keen sense of direction.

Soon the fog thickens, turning the forest into a gray veil that swallows sound and sight, and the children realize the wigwam is nowhere to be found. Their adventure shifts from playful exploration to a subtle test of courage as they try to retrace their steps through a landscape that seems to rearrange itself. The chapter captures the thrill of childhood imagination confronting nature’s mysteries, hinting at further discoveries waiting just beyond the mist.
