Description

Glen Mason has spent more than a year inside the State Industrial School for Boys, a place meant to straighten wayward youths but that has only sharpened his knack for trouble. Restless and sharp‑tongued, he spends his evenings swapping escape ideas with fellow inmate Nixy, dreaming of slipping past the watchful eyes of the superintendent and disappearing into the night. The cramped dormitory, the strict curfew, and the ever‑present threat of police make every whispered plan feel like a lifeline.

When talk of a long‑forgotten treasure hidden in the woods of Buffalo Hollow reaches the boys, Glen sees a chance to turn his desperation into adventure. A ragtag group of would‑be scouts and outcasts begins mapping a route, each member hoping the loot will buy them a fresh start. As Glen weighs loyalty against his own yearning for freedom, the promise of gold becomes as tempting as the thought of a life beyond the reform school’s iron gates.
