Description

In this vivid wartime tale, a handful of British boys—guided by the quick‑thinking Hal Paine and his steadfast friend Chester Crawford—find themselves far ahead of the main Allied forces along the River Marne. Their modest squad of forty‑eight riders is tasked with scouting the enemy’s movements, a job that quickly turns perilous when they spot a massive German column looming on the plain below.

A sudden ambush forces the boys into the forest, where their remarkable marksmanship and daring tactics turn the trees into a deadly arena. As bullets whiz and the enemy hesitates, the young soldiers must decide when to hold their ground and when to flee, balancing the thin line between heroism and survival. Through tense exchanges and rapid retreats, the story captures the raw courage and quick wit of youth thrust into the brutal reality of the Great War.
