Description

In this gentle twilight tale, a rangy band of woodland friends gathers around a lamp‑lit camp in Tommy Peele’s forest, only to discover that a flickering flame can be as wily as any creature. When curious raccoon Tad Coon reaches for what he thinks is a harmless bug, the glass shatters, a tiny burn follows, and a chorus of startled sighs ripples through the woods. Doctor Muskrat, the sagely mouse, steps in to explain the hidden rules of fire while the playful dog Watch barks warnings that are half‑serious, half‑laugh.

The story weaves together the distinct personalities of a careful skunk, an eager rabbit, and a bemused fox, each offering a glimpse of how forest folk learn to respect light and heat. Laced with soft humor and vivid illustrations, the narrative balances swift action with quiet moments of wonder, inviting listeners to imagine the rustle of leaves, the glow of a lantern, and the simple wisdom that even the smallest paws can uncover.
