Description

In a modest workshop, a humble carpenter discovers a peculiar log that seems to weep and giggle like a child. The strange voice startles him, leading to a mix of fear and fascination as he wrestles with the mysterious wood. His curiosity grows when the timber’s odd behavior suggests something more than ordinary firewood. Reluctantly, he passes the lively piece to his friend, a solitary craftsman with big dreams.

The friend, a wiry old man with a bright yellow wig, sees the talking log as the perfect heart for a marionette he intends to carve. He imagines a wooden puppet that can dance, fence, and tumble across the world, earning its maker a living and a taste of adventure. As the two men begin shaping the wood, the stage is set for a journey that will test the puppet’s will, its creator’s patience, and the very meaning of becoming alive.
