Description

Amid the shattered remnants of a once‑glorious empire, a desperate king returns to a camp teeming with fear, mutiny and scattered troops. King Vitiges, clutching the crown and a tattered banner, must navigate a battlefield where loyalties fracture like broken shields and every whispered rumor threatens to ignite fresh bloodshed. As rival warlords, restless soldiers and grieving families converge on the cramped tents, the fragile hope of restoring order hangs on his every word.

Through vivid, ground‑level scenes the novel paints the raw tension of a people on the brink—armed factions poised at the city gates, outspoken elders demanding accountability, and a young count who strives to keep the camp from descending into chaos. Vitiges’ resolve is tested as he confronts accusations of betrayal while rallying a beleaguered army to march toward an uncertain victory.

The opening act immerses listeners in the gritty reality of a collapsing kingdom, offering a compelling portrait of leadership, loyalty and the desperate yearning for stability when the world around them crumbles.
