Description

A winter dusk settles over a quiet country house, where three children still feel the ache of their mother’s loss. They pass the long evenings huddled by the fire, their imaginations turning the house into a stage for whispered hopes, playful pets, and the hopeful return of their father. The landscape outside is bleak, yet inside the rooms pulse with the restless energy of youth, each child clinging to the rituals their mother taught them while waiting for something new to arrive.

When the carriage finally pulls up, a petite governess steps into the doorway—neither youthful nor old, dressed neatly, her presence as bright as the candles she carries. The children stare, their curiosity mingling with uncertainty, as they try to guess whether she will be kind or strict, gentle or distant. The first moments of her introduction set the tone for a delicate dance of trust, discipline, and the quiet reshaping of a family still learning to live without its heart.
