Description

In the deep, whispering North Woods a clever family of foxes makes its home in a hollow log, its walls lined with the scent of pine and the rustle of leaves. The three young kits—Sharp Eyes, Twinkle, and Winkle—learn the ways of the forest from their vigilant parents, who scout for danger before slipping away to hunt for food. Sharp Eyes earns his name from the bright, penetrating gaze that seems to see through every brush and branch, hinting at a curiosity that soon pulls him beyond the safety of the log.

When the foxes return with a fresh partridge, Sharp Eyes’s questions spark the first glimpse of adventure, urging him to venture out and test his wits against the world beyond. Along the way he will stumble upon strange noises, unexpected encounters, and a series of challenges that test his quickness and cunning. Listeners will follow his daring steps as he meets new friends, faces capture, and sets out on a journey that promises both peril and wonder.

About the author

RB

Richard Barnum

Best known as the name behind a lively run of early 20th-century animal stories, this “author” was actually a house pseudonym tied to one of America’s most famous children’s book producers. The books were created for young readers and helped build the warm, playful world of series fiction.
