When Peter Merton, a newly minted vice‑president at a bustling corporation, discovers that a colleague has stolen $50,000 from his office safe, his career teeters on the brink. The investigation leaves him with nothing but a single, odd‑looking bank‑note replacement, and the pressure from his boss and the district attorney mounts. Desperate for a solution, Peter begins to suspect that the theft is only the beginning of a far stranger problem.
His curiosity turns to wonder when the “note” turns out to be a thin, printed sheet bearing a cryptic message from someone claiming to live three centuries in the future. The missive describes a device called a Time Transfer Field and hints that the very metal walls of his safe could be the key to an unimaginable experiment. As Peter wrestles with disbelief, greed, and the looming threat of losing everything, he must decide whether to chase the promise of unimaginable wealth—or to confront a mystery that could rewrite his understanding of reality.
