Description

Orville College sits on green fields just beyond London, its red‑brick towers and modest white‑brick chapel forming a patchwork of old ambition and new comforts. Once a solitary manor, the campus now spreads with added wings, a gravel drive and a tiny railway stop that delivers students with a steady rumble. The evening sun paints the lawns gold, hinting at a new term of study and mischief.

At the front door greets Dr. Brabazon, a sixty‑year‑old headmaster whose genial smile and firm handshake make every newcomer feel at home. He welcomes a varied crowd—boys arriving in elegant carriages, cramped omnibuses, or the sleek new trains—each bearing family hopes and the promise of rigorous education. Though the college houses fewer than a hundred scholars, the mix of resident pupils and day‑boys sets the stage for spirited rivalries and unexpected friendships. As night falls, the students settle in, unaware that the coming weeks will test both their resolve and the quiet order of the school.
