Description

In the bustling streets of early‑fourth‑century Thessaloniki, the city glitters under the shadow of Emperor Diocletian's rule. A lavish court gathers in a marble palace, its walls adorned with mosaics of birds and fruit. The audience is introduced to a colorful cast: a poet in emerald garb, the triumphant Caesar Galerius, and a host of soldiers, priests and mysterious women.

The poet steps forward, his voice echoing through the hall as he unfurls a fragile manuscript. His verses celebrate the empire’s recent victories while hinting at deeper currents of doubt and anticipation. Meanwhile, the weary yet proud Caesar boasts of his Persian triumphs, oblivious to the whispered concerns of his advisors and the looming presence of the revered Saint Demetrius.

Amid the pomp and ceremony, a subtle mystery begins to surface: a prophecy, a secret pact, and the restless spirit of a saint whose miracles challenge imperial authority. Listeners are drawn into the tension between earthly power and divine intervention, setting the stage for a story where loyalty, faith, and destiny collide.
