Bob Bennett is the sort of charismatic, blue‑eyed “Apollo” who never quite fits into the neat rows of a university club. At a lively gathering, his friends argue that a certain stunt is impossible, and Bob, flushed with confidence and a cocktail‑induced bravado, declares he can do it. His reputation as a bold, reckless youth precedes him, earning both admiring cheers and muttered jokes about his foolishness. Beneath the swagger, however, lies a practical problem: his father has just declared the family broke.
When his father hands over a modest, hidden stash of cash and urges Bob to shoulder the family’s burden, the young man is thrust from carefree daring into a sudden responsibility. Bob’s internal monologue mixes humor with genuine doubt as he weighs his love of adventure against the duty to his dad. The story follows his attempts to reconcile the two, setting the stage for a lively, character‑driven comedy of errors and ambition.
