Description

Three energetic teens—Ned, Bob, and Jerry—find themselves in the middle of a noisy drill at Camp Dixton, where the sergeant’s shouted commands turn ordinary hay sacks into pretend German soldiers. The boys practice bayonet thrusts with a mix of bravado and comic mishaps, each trying to prove they have the strength and speed needed for real combat. Their banter reveals a strong friendship that will carry them beyond the training field.

When the camp finally calls them up for active service, the trio trades their motor bikes for a troop transport headed for France, eager to defend their country. Along the way they encounter a seasoned lieutenant who teaches them the harsher realities of war, while still keeping their youthful optimism alive. Listeners will join Ned, Bob, and Jerry as they navigate the challenges of military life, discovering courage, camaraderie, and the unexpected humor that helps them face the unknown.
