Description

Three adventurous teens with a shared passion for motorcars find themselves drawn into a mystery when a bustling crowd gathers at their hometown railroad station. Whispers of gold on the nearby border spark their curiosity, especially after seeing the foreman of a mine they partly own. Determined to uncover the hidden “sixty nuggets,” they fire up their trusty automobile and set off toward the unknown.

The boys soon discover that the quest is far from simple. Along the way they encounter a band of Blackfeet Indians who have escaped their reservation, and they must rely on quick thinking and teamwork to stay safe. Their eccentric companion, Professor Snodgrass, adds an extra layer of intrigue with his search for mysterious luminous snakes, while the slick opportunist Noddy Nixon lurks, hoping to snatch the treasure for himself. The early chapters blend humor, daring engine troubles, and the thrill of a real frontier hunt, promising listeners a lively ride through danger and discovery.

About the author

Clarence Young

Best known as the name behind the fast-paced Motor Boys adventures, this was actually a Stratemeyer Syndicate house pseudonym rather than one single writer. The books helped define early 20th-century boys' series fiction, mixing cars, travel, and cliffhanger action.
