Description

While wandering a buttercup‑dotted meadow with his nurse and baby sister, young Jack pauses beneath an ancient hawthorn. A hidden hollow in the tree reveals a nest of glittering white wool, and inside he finds three tiny, feather‑less creatures that squeak their name—fairies. Intrigued, Jack offers them a slice of plum‑cake, beginning a gentle, unexpected friendship.

Soon a sudden storm darkens the garden, and the frightened fairies scramble into Jack’s pockets for shelter, clinging to his waistcoat and jacket. As the wind whirls and the moon flickers through the narrowing opening above, Jack wonders how to return his new companions to their mysterious home. The tale blossoms into a charming quest, inviting listeners to follow a child's curiosity through a world where ordinary hedgerows conceal extraordinary wonders.
