Description

A lavish celebration erupts within the newly completed palace, its crystal chandeliers and gilded arches reflecting a hundred mirrors. Officers, diplomats, and glittering nobility whirl through polkas and waltzes while distant sentries march in perfect time, their uniforms a vivid contrast to the opulent surroundings. Beneath the festive clamor, a broken telegraph line to Tomsk hangs over the revelry, hinting at a looming crisis that cannot wait for the music to end.

Amid the swirl of silk and steel stands a tall, composed officer in the plain uniform of the Imperial Guard. Though his demeanor is calm, the furrowed brow he wears betrays a deep worry that only a trusted few perceive. Summoned by the Tsar himself, he is entrusted with a desperate courier mission—carrying vital dispatches through a land torn by unrest—while the palace doors close behind him, sealing the revelers in oblivion.
