Description

In the quiet, forgotten corners of the Ukrainian steppe, a gentle narrator invites us to explore a world that few outsiders ever see. He describes a modest homestead perched between endless grasslands, a deep river, and a rising mountain valley, home to the Cossack Danilo Tsjabane and his close‑knit family. Their days are marked by simple pleasures, neighborly gatherings, and the timeless rhythms of a land where beards only appear after fifty.

The story unfolds as the fragile peace of the region is tested by the tug‑of‑war between powerful neighbors—Russia and Poland—while a small group seeks true independence for Ukraine. Against this backdrop, Danilo’s ordinary life begins to intersect with larger forces, hinting at quiet courage and unexpected heroism. Listeners will be drawn into a richly detailed portrait of an era where loyalty, tradition, and the yearning for freedom shape the fate of a humble household.
