Description

In the charming river‑side quarter of Nuremberg, a bright red house with three sharp gables stands beside the Pegnitz, its garden a narrow balcony of green. Here young Linda Tresser has grown up under the watchful eye of her Aunt Charlotte, a widowed lady whose strict sense of duty and religious devotion shape every corner of the home. Orphaned as an infant, Linda knows only this house and the quiet rhythms of Bavarian life.

Charlotte’s uncompromising virtue, however, often eclipses compassion, and her attempts to shield Linda from worldly influences create a tense, almost suffocating atmosphere. As the town’s Protestant traditions clash with the surrounding Catholic culture, the young heroine finds herself torn between obedience to her aunt and a yearning for freedom and warmth. Listeners are drawn into Linda’s quiet struggle, feeling the pull of duty against the gentle desire for a softer, more merciful world.
