JARRO. - LA PRINCIPESSA - PARTE PRIMA.
In the heat of a July afternoon the ducal estate of Montrone erupts in celebration. The duke, fresh from an Eastern campaign, has returned to Naples in full uniform, and the park is strung with arches of flowers and ribbons. When Domenico, the longtime gardener, fails to appear for the ceremonial presentation of the peasants, panic spreads through the gathered crowd. His frantic sprint toward the park, hat adorned with red ribbons, hints at a secret that the fête cannot yet conceal.
Meanwhile, the duke’s only daughter, Enrica, lives under the watchful eye of her stern maid, Cristina, whose austere demeanor masks a restless inner life. Their close yet uneasy companionship fuels whispered rumors among servants and locals alike. As the duke navigates his renewed authority and a mysterious illness that once forced the princess away, listeners are drawn into a web of duty, envy, and hidden motives that begin to surface within the once‑peaceful walls of Montrone.
