Description

On a storm‑laden summer night in Paris’s quiet Marais district, a modest yet elegant house glows softly among the ancient trees. Inside, the Davenne family—Pierre, a former naval lieutenant now settled as a husband and father, his gentle wife Geneviève, and their lively daughter Jeanne—enjoys a moment of domestic tranquility that the neighborhood admires. Their simple happiness is painted against the backdrop of flickering lamplight, fragrant gardens, and the distant rumble of thunder, setting a mood both intimate and slightly uneasy.

Just as the household settles for the night, Pierre discovers a terse, sealed note slipped into his pocket, demanding a secret meeting at ten o’clock—“your future and your honor” it warns. The clock ticks down, and the quiet of the home is pierced by the unease of an unknown visitor and the promise of a revelation that could upend the Davenne’s peaceful existence. Listeners are drawn into the tension of that impending encounter, wondering who will appear at the door and what hidden truth lies behind the invitation.
