Set in a dimly lit cottage at the turn of the year, the play opens with a handful of familiar faces gathering for an evening that quickly spirals into lively mischief. Aatu, the cheerful host, tries to keep the household in order while Oka, the wry courier, drifts in with a suitcase of strange new gadgets. Around them, a motley crew—boisterous Selma, impatient Kaisa, aloof Kiia, pretentious Susanna and others—each brings their own quirks, turning ordinary conversations into a cascade of sharp wit and gentle ribbing.
The dialogue crackles with a light‑hearted, almost teasing tone, inviting performers to exaggerate just enough for comic effect without slipping into crassness. As the characters argue over chores, new arrivals and old grudges, the audience is drawn into a world where everyday concerns becomestage‑worthy gestures. The play’s structure rewards a breezy, playful delivery, making it a charming glimpse into a small community’s hopes, frustrations, and the small joys that keep them together.
