Description

A daring rescue mission takes shape when a group of determined travelers learns that the missing captain’s fate remains shrouded in mystery. Mary, the captain’s resilient daughter, refuses to surrender hope, while the steadfast Lord Glenarvan and the earnest John Mangles pledge to pursue any clue that might lead them to a safe return. Their plans unfold amid the remote coastlines of New Zealand, where an unexpected proposal from the eccentric geographer Paganel offers a chance to set sail for Auckland and, from there, a possible route back to Europe.

The narrative weaves together rugged landscapes, precarious sea voyages, and the tension of uncertain alliances, all while the expedition grapples with limited supplies and scarce ship traffic. As they weigh the risks of a coastal trek against a daring ocean crossing, the characters confront their own resolve, making every decision feel both personal and perilous. Listeners are invited into an atmospheric world where courage and curiosity drive the search forward.
