Description

In the shadow of a royal palace, a young woman lives under the oppressive rule of a usurper who has seized power after a brutal murder. Electra, haunted by the memory of her father’s death, endures a life of forced servitude and constant fear, while her mother, Clytemnestra, remains complicit in the new regime. The weight of her family's disgrace hangs heavy over her, and the promise of vengeance flickers in her heart.

When a mysterious stranger arrives, he is revealed to be Orestes, Electra’s brother, long thought lost. Their secret reunion sparks a dangerous pact: together they will plot to reclaim their honor and avenge their father’s murder. Guided by an elderly servant who once saved Orestes, they begin to devise a daring scheme that could topple the tyrant and restore the rightful line.

The tragedy unfolds with intense emotions, moral dilemmas, and the looming threat of divine retribution, setting the stage for a clash between duty and destiny.

A daring voice of classical Athens, this tragedian reshaped Greek drama by giving mythic stories sharper emotion, psychological depth, and unforgettable characters. His plays still feel alive because they focus so intensely on human choices, suffering, and conflict.
