Description

In the sun‑warmed hills of the Maremma, a lean but sturdy boy named Giorgio Terni tends his family’s newly reclaimed fields. He lives in the modest village of Monticello Amiata, where the sea breezes mingle with the scent of olive groves and wheat. One spring he meets Gaudenzia, a spirited half‑Arabian mare, and the two quickly form a partnership that feels destined for something greater.

Their world turns toward the Palio, Siena’s centuries‑old horse race that erupts each summer like a living pageant. Ancient rules and fierce rivalries govern the contest, and every rider knows that the line between honor and disaster is razor thin. As the day of the race approaches, Giorgio and Gaudenzia face the challenge of mastering each other’s bravery, while the whole town watches, breath held, for the thunder of hooves that may change their lives forever.
