Five Little Friends

The story follows five classmates—Bob, Betty, Paul, Peggy and little Dot—who share a lively classroom with Miss West. When their teacher rolls out a covered bowl, the children discover six bright goldfish that become the class’s new pets. Together they learn how to feed and care for the fish, turning an ordinary school day into a ripple of excitement.

Miss West soon turns the aquarium into a chance for every child to talk about a beloved creature at home. Dot goes first, describing her fluffy white cat Snowball and the mischievous kittens that hide in her father’s old hat, while Paul follows with a tale of Hero, a steadfast collie who carries baskets and once saved him from a sudden wave at the beach. As the friends swap stories, the classroom buzzes with laughter and wonder, inviting listeners to imagine the warmth of childhood companionship.
