FAIR and WARMER - By E. G. von Wald - Illustrated by Paul Orban

Description

In a society where every citizen’s mood is monitored and even the weather is a reflection of collective well‑being, Tensor finds himself plagued by an inexplicable melancholy after a brief, baffling encounter with an alien race. His administrator, the stern hyperimage Ruut, orders a calming injection, insisting that personal distress threatens the harmony of the whole planet. The violet‑tinted sky and the ever‑present surveillance create a backdrop of sterile order that feels increasingly suffocating.

Yet the alien presence has awakened a restless curiosity in Tensor, a nagging itch that no drug can soothe. As he drifts in a chemically induced haze, he watches the misty horizon and wonders what those silent visitors might be trying to convey. The story follows his tentative steps toward understanding, balancing the pressure to conform against a growing urge to seek answers that lie beyond the Council’s strict boundaries.
