Description

Jason Ramsey, the lone Earth‑born pilot of the Interstellar Transfer Service, finds himself stranded on Irwadi, a harsh world ruled by reptilian humanoids with a sharp tongue and even sharper bureaucracy. With his ship grounded and his permit revoked, he must navigate a maze of alien law, cultural quirks, and a hostile port authority that seems intent on keeping him there forever.

Desperate for credits, Ramsey throws himself into the seedy gambling dens of the Old Quarter, where fortunes rise and fall in the blink of an eye. Along the way he clashes with a corrupt chief of police and teams up with a reckless, half‑naked dreamer whose self‑destructive streak mirrors his own. Together they chase a mysterious equation that could decide the fate of whole planets, all while trying to stay one step ahead of the authorities and their own inner demons.

Gerald Vance

A byline from the paperback science-fiction era, this name was used on brisk, idea-driven adventures published for mid-century readers. Behind it was not one writer but a shared pseudonym tied to several familiar names in genre fiction.
