Description

A cold, sleet‑laden night cloaks the banks of the Thames, where a lone punt rocks beneath a weeping willow. A nervous man waits in the damp, his coat soaked, while a determined woman named Polly slips aboard, clutching a mysterious bundle. Their whispered exchange hints at a covert transaction—one that must remain hidden from the shadows of a nearby mansion.

Together they maneuver the small boat through the swollen river, securing the enigmatic cargo beneath a low‑hanging branch. The pair’s uneasy partnership is tinged with distrust, yet each is bound by a promise that could cost them dearly if broken. As they haul their secret ashore and disappear toward Brentford, a sense of looming danger and hidden motives lingers, promising a tangled web of intrigue that will unfold beyond this moonlit rendezvous.
