Description

In a scarred countryside where fires lick the roofs of Zahlbach, a handful of villagers gather under an uneasy sky. Christel, head bowed, pleads for peace while Daniel bursts through a gate, shouting that the road itself is ablaze. Their friends Johannes and the enigmatic Wecker spin riddles about strange, four‑legged beasts and double‑headed riders, hinting at a world where myth and war collide. The dialogue swirls between desperate pleas and dark humor, painting a portrait of a community teetering on the edge of collapse.

The tension spikes when a distant cannon thunders from the nearby Mainz fort, a stark reminder that enemy forces are drawing ever closer. As dust settles, the villagers stare at the horizon, their thoughts turning to ancient floods and the promise of renewal after devastation. Amid the looming threat, they cling to fragile hope, sharing whispered stories that bind them together even as the night grows colder.
