Description

In a bustling New Bedford dock, two weather‑worn sea dogs—Old Cap’n Pem and his wooden‑legged companion Mike—argue over the fate of a derelict schooner called the Narwhal. Their sharp‑tongued rivalry, flavored with old sailor slang, sets a lively tone as a tug pulls the creaking vessel toward a new owner, Dixon. Amid the banter, a trio of former Antarctic crew members arrives, reviving memories of a perilous cruise on the bark Hector.

The men soon discover that the Narwhal is being refitted for a daring expedition into the Arctic ice, a venture that promises encounters with massive whales, towering glaciers, and hidden dangers beneath the frozen surface. As the eclectic crew assembles—each with his own quirks and a share of past glory—they must learn to trust one another before the ship even leaves harbor. Listeners will be drawn into the camaraderie, the looming threat of the icy unknown, and the promise of a classic seafaring adventure.
