Description

After the devastation of the world war, Europe is slowly rebuilding and the mood has shifted from destruction to invention. In America, the brilliant but eccentric professor Daniel Wells of Yale has completed his most ambitious project: a device that can make any object or creature invisible to the eye. The newspaper headlines roar with both awe and skepticism, while the missing half of the apparatus delays its public debut, leaving scientists and the curious alike in suspense.

News of the strange new technology reaches the Netherlands, where rumors of objects vanishing into thin air begin to spread through towns still scarred by conflict. As ordinary people wonder whether the claims are mere stage tricks or a genuine breakthrough, they are drawn into a web of debate among scholars, magicians, and everyday folk. Listeners will be invited to explore the early days of this remarkable invention, the personalities who champion it, and the uneasy excitement that grips a world eager for wonder after years of darkness.
