Description

A young, struggling artist haunted by the loss of his parents and his beloved aunt seeks a fresh start far from the cramped streets of London. A simple bunch of yellow ragwort, placed in a vase by his sister Ella, triggers a vivid dream of Runswick Bay, prompting him to write down the memories of a seaside visit he hopes to revisit. Determined to combine healthful sea air with new subjects for his paintings, he sets out with hope and a modest inheritance.

Arriving in the quiet resort, he discovers a haven beloved by painters for its luminous cliffs, rolling tides and the gentle buzz of fishermen’s life. With the encouragement of his longtime friend Tom, who hands him a weather‑worn newspaper article praising the bay’s charm, he secures lodging and begins to sketch the landscape. As he settles in, the town’s simple beauty and its curious inhabitants awaken his creative spirit, setting the stage for an unexpected path that may lead far beyond the canvas.
