Writing under the name Mrs. O. F. Walton, Amy Catherine Walton was a British author of Christian children's books, mostly fiction. She was born Amy Catherine Deck in 1849 and became especially well known for stories such as A Peep Behind the Scenes.
Her books were written for young readers but often carried themes that still feel clear and direct today: kindness, endurance, faith, and the value of ordinary people. That combination of simple storytelling and earnest moral purpose helped her work reach a wide audience.
She died in Leigh, Kent, in 1939. Though not as widely known now as some of her contemporaries, her stories have continued to circulate through reprints and audiobook recordings, keeping her gentle, devotional style alive for new generations.
