Description

On the night before Christmas, a fierce snowstorm shuts Kenneth and his sister Rose inside their cramped house, turning the final days before the holiday into a slow, restless wait. With their mother buried in baking and their father away in town, the children stare at lonely toys and a faded doll, longing for new gifts and a glimpse of the festive world outside. The quiet tension of their boredom is broken when a tiny black shape darts across the snow‑covered steps.

The figure proves to be a shivering stray cat, its frail paws climbing the icy landing and drawing the siblings’ wonder. Its sudden appearance sparks a flash of excitement, hinting at a small adventure that may lift the gloom of the storm. As Kenneth and Rose watch the animal’s brave ascent, they begin to imagine the kindness and mystery that could unfold in the quiet night. The opening promises a gentle, heart‑warming tale of imagination, family bonds, and unexpected companionship.
