Description

Five hardy Boy Scouts, each from a different New York patrol, have traded the city’s bustle for the raw silence of the far north. Led by Ned Nestor, a quiet scout with a hidden government assignment, they’ve trekked across endless bogs, towering pines and frozen rivers, pitching camp under a sky that threatens rain before dawn. Their camaraderie is evident in the banter and easy teamwork that turns a simple tent‑set up into a ritual of brotherhood.

Now they press onward toward the mysterious shores of Hudson Bay, driven by personal ambitions as varied as secret service work, a budding journalist’s thirst for a story, and the dream of becoming a modern explorer. The harsh wilderness tests their stamina, resourcefulness, and the resolve of each boy, while the looming unknown—both the frozen expanse ahead and the hidden motives among them—adds a subtle tension to their quest. Listeners will feel the chill of the Arctic wind and the pulse of youthful adventure with every step they take.

1879–1940

Best known for fast-moving Boy Scout adventures, this byline helped shape a popular stream of early 20th-century juvenile fiction. Modern reference sources note that the name was likely used as a collective pen name rather than by a single writer.
