A wandering artist returns to the timeless streets of Cairo, drawn once more to its sun‑kissed facades and bustling bazaars. Early mornings find him chasing fleeting shadows along the Mousky, where market stalls spill colors, camels pause under awnings, and the ancient mosques cast a luminous veil over the alleys. His keen eye captures the ordinary miracles of daily life—vendors arranging watermelons, children darting through narrow lanes, the quiet dignity of stone courtyards—while the city’s layered history whispers from every dome and minaret.
Beyond the capital, his sketchbook follows him to the desert towns and the banks of the Nile, where the remnants of pharaonic grandeur sit beside modest village homes. There, he witnesses archaeological discoveries unfolding in Thebes, shares tea with local scholars, and records the rhythms of life that have endured since the age of the Saracens. The result is a vivid, illustrated portrait of Egypt that balances the awe of ancient monuments with the intimate humanity of its present‑day inhabitants.
