TO MY TWO PLUCKY LITTLE FELLOW PRISONERS
AN ACCOUNT OF OUR ARRESTING EXPERIENCES
Three adventurous friends find themselves in Berlin on the cusp of a historic upheaval. After a leisurely tour of Germany, they settle into the plush Hotel Adlon, hoping for a short stay before boarding a cruise from Hamburg. As the city buzzes with talk of war, the women’s plans are repeatedly thwarted—missing luggage, a canceled ship, and unsettling news from the palace that the Kaiser's peace overtures have failed.
Determined to avoid the gathering storm, they scramble to secure funds, charter a car, and plot a hurried escape toward the German frontier. Their journey takes them through bustling streets, elegant concerts, and even an ice ballet, all while the atmosphere grows increasingly electric and uncertain. Amid eager warnings from acquaintances and the looming threat of military conscription, the trio faces the stark reality that their carefree tour may become a desperate race for safety.
