Description

In the shadow of a newly forged Europe, the steel‑clad capital of Rubania hums with fear. The Gerka, the nation’s secret police, meets in a midnight tower under the command of the ruthless dictator Alex Reikoff, who is determined to make his country the unrivaled power of the skies. As whispers of a massive American dirigible called the Goliath spread, the leader’s fury turns into a dangerous plan.

Lieutenant Serge Larko, a freshly minted officer trained in both lighter‑than‑air craft and cutting‑edge airplanes, is thrust into the heart of the plot. Charged with piloting the experimental XO5—a sleek air cruiser built for a six‑thousand‑mile nonstop flight—he must race across the Atlantic before the rival airship ever lifts off. The mission promises glory, but also draws Serge into a high‑stakes contest that could reshape the balance of aerial power.

A little-known writer of early aviation adventure, this author is remembered for fast-moving tales built around giant airships, secret missions, and the wonder of flight. His surviving work has the brisk, imaginative energy that made boys' adventure fiction of the 1930s so popular.
