In a world still reshaping after the war, the Soviet Union has turned to an unlikely source for its newest fire‑suppression technology: a top‑rated American pilot from the Air Fire Force. Danny O’Rourke, a red‑haired, quick‑witted aviator, is dispatched to the remote headquarters of District Three in the Urals, where towering timber reserves sit under constant threat of blaze. While discussing the merits of hot‑ versus cold‑nitrogen fire‑breaks with the stern Director General, an unexpected visitor arrives, dwarfing the room and its occupants.
The newcomer is a massive, blue‑clad figure with a scarred, almost molten complexion and a guttural, indecipherable language. Its presence hints at forces far beyond Earth’s atmosphere, and Danny’s instinct tells him this encounter could change everything. As the giant points skyward and repeats a haunting phrase, the pilot realizes the very limits of human ambition may be about to be tested.
